Right so last night I was mulling a few ideas around in my head so I was wondering what people thought of the following:
1) A Digimon World to quest in, I don't think we have one already.
2) A Saiyan quester, like in the Dragonball Manga/Anime etc, my only concern with this is that this character would be rather powerful.
3) A Pacific Rim quest, basically massive robots beating up massive aliens; could be interesting will all the sharing memories etc
4) Finally a Power Ranger character, yes I am well geeky, not sure whether one on their own would make sense as they usually come in teams of 5 to 6.

Digimon world is totally acceptable, but I might forget if you don't put it on the world requests thread (hint hint). Saiyan characters, while an interesting idea, may be too overly powerful/godlike. Massive robots beating up massive aliens is acceptable, though if your character is one or the other don't make them overly powerful or godlike as per the usual rules. (Point of interest: How would you go about doing this within the boundaries of the Questing Association? Also, I haven't seen the film yet -friends have given it really mixed reviews, kinda like Marmite- so I don't know what all the sharing memories stuff is about.) A Power Ranger character is absolutely fine, but might be odd on his/her own unless you can find a fitting backstory as to why this is the case.
In general, any world request submitted to the world requests thread will be considered, and any new character is acceptable as long as they don't fall into the "overly powerful and/or Godlike" category. -Remember, every character has to be able to die.

Yeah I did think a Saiyan might be pushing it even though Goku dies seven or eight times in the whole thing (maybe more) only to be resurrected by the Dragonballs. This could also have potentially brought in villains from the series but then they might have been too powerful for other questers as well. Pacific Rim is totally awesome, if you've enjoyed films like Hellboy etc then you'll love this one. Although it is essentially robots vs aliens lol. The memory sharing thing is how the Jaegers (massive robots) are controlled; using something called the Drift, Jaeger pilots share minds essentially in order to become one unified brain for the Jaeger. This has good points and bad points but could lead to some good moments. Not sure about a questing context really, I'm just sort of coming up with ideas and hoping that something sticks lol. I may create some new characters soon; I do feel left out only having six when some people have nine

There's nothing against characters from the series being brought in who are overly powerful, just as long as they're not ours. As long as they're random characters that anyone can use, it makes little difference how godlike they are - Questers, it seems, always find a way.
So Pacific Rim uses a hive mind? That's fairly common-place in sci-fi.
Me? Nine? Nahhh... I've got four or five more in my head...

Tbh, I'm unlikely to see it at the cinema. I only see movies with my parents these days, and neither on of them is inclined to watch it... Best example of a hive mind I've found so far is in the Ender saga, second book, I think, has the best example. Incidentally, the Ender saga is well worth the read - absolutely fantastic! Had me hooked until I'd finished it! Also, a film adaptation of the first book, Ender's Game, is coming out soon!!! Ahhh! Can't wait!!!
