It is an NCAA sport though, and should aid my college admissions. If I keep doing as well as I have been it shouldn't be too much of a problem. I will at least probably get a division 3 school to support it

None of that means anything to me over here in the UK, I have no idea what you're talking about... Still, if you're doing well, good on ya!

Division 3 is the level of the fencing at the school, I've gotten college letters that are div3/div2 and I can fence both (top 32 in both events at nationals this year). NCAA sports are the ones that colleges offer.

If you're talking about college scholarships for sports, I don't think we have that here, MM.
I also did fencing in Uni, but I always had to be careful in lunges - my weak ankle was also the load bearing one...
Which blade type are you?

Épée, and even if I don't get a scholarship, it is helpful for getting accepted, especially since my school is full of genius kids

Ah, I was epee too. Sabre would probably have been better (Less strict on the stance, so I'd have been able to get off the bad foot), but my club didn't have all the equipment for sabre.

Épée is awesomer though, was it your front or back foot that hurt?

Back. It just couldn't handle the strain of pushing off for lunges. And I think I'm just better at swinging than thrusting.

Yeah, anything going wrong with the back leg just sucks. Front leg you can BS a little, but back leg is the worst. Sabre would be a lot cooler if they didn't have right of way though...

Right, getting this thread back on-topic, I will be away all of tomorrow, though I may be able to check in now and then if I get bored waiting for mum to finish trying on clothes or whatever... Monday I have a friend coming over for a while, so am unlikely to post much between now and then. Tuesday I have an early morning taking the dog to the vet again, and since I am very definitely not a morning person, that may mean that I crash out for the rest of the day. I'll get online as often as I can, but sometime on wednesday we have visitors coming from Australia and I'll have to play host for a week, so that might get complicated.
Dear lord, when did my life get this busy...?
