Kina hadn't expected it either, she was used to magic but to make something look and feel as empty as this place did, felt new and strange to her. "Well I'm definitely guessing we go in then." Kina shuffled the toes of one foot over the threshold and tapped them on what she assumed must be a floor. A small echo sounded and seemed to vibrate through her body. She put her foot entirely on the floor and began to slowly shift her weight to the foot inside the door, testing the floor to make sure that whatever was there would hold her weight. "It seems solid enough" she remarked, as she hesitantly moved the rest of her body into the building. Once inside she took a few more steps towards where the heart-shaped paving stone lay and picked it up, throwing it deeper into the building just to make sure the floor carried on all the way through.

It did appear to, as the paving stone thudded to the floor once more. Lexi entered the building after Kina and was startled when the door closed of its own accord. Strangely, no light went out. Lexi could see just as well now as if the door had been open. That is to say, she could still see the paving stone on the floor in front of them. She reached out her hands to either side, looking for a wall, but felt nothing. Not even the door was still there. She walked towards the paving stone, feeling her way carefully with her feet, just to make sure, but Kina was right, the floor seemed solid. She picked it up and threw it again.

Kina turned quickly at the sound of the door closing behind them. This was too eerie for her liking. The door had disappeared and all around them was a dark nothingness, it reminded Kina of the space between worlds. The only things she could see were herself and Lexi and the stone on the floor. The stone landed further into the black and she started slowly towards it. Kina came to an abrupt stop as she felt something soft stroke the side of her cheek, and a soft whooshing noise. "Who's there?!" She turned on the spot, searching for the source of the noise, seeing nothing but darkness.

"Or 'what'...?" Lexi hissed hesitantly. She'd felt something too, and she didn't like it one bit. Her eyes turned blue, her fangs and claws extended, and her skin turned paler. "I don't like this" she rasped.

Kina stopped moving and held her breath so she could listen to the darkness surrounding her, but she could hear nothing but the beating of her own heart. "I don't like this either, but I think standing in one place isn't a good idea. Let's move in a bit more" Kina started towards where the paving stone lay, she picked it up and chucked it again, only half paying attention to where it was going. The stone bounced off of something about six feet from the ground back in Kina's direction. She ducked just in time as it passed her. "What the hell...?"

Lexi dived to the side in time to see the paving stone fly past her ear. "Something rubbery maybe?" Lexi walked forwards towards the spot the stone had rebounded from. There was nothing there. "What the-?" She touched the nothingness and her hand rebounded with twice the force she'd used to touch it.

"Must be some sort of force field or something..." Kina walked up and curiously did the same thing, touching it with just the tip of her nail but her hand flew back, nearly hitting herself. She slowly and softly felt along to see if there was a gap at all, but there wasn't anything.

"Well, now what?" Lexi looked around, but the field seemed to extend indefinitely in both directions. "Should we pick a direction, or split up and follow both...?"

"I don't know if it's a good idea for us to split up. neither of us know what we're looking for. At least I don't." Kina gave Lexi a quizzical look, then shrugged. she still didn't know what to make of the other woman but thought she seemed nice enough. Kina was starting to feel really uneasy being in this building. The weight of the nothingness was pressing down on her and she hated the feeling of being trapped. She felt like someone was toying with them.

"It feels like a game..." Lexi mused "..Or a riddle..." she wasn't too sure what to make of it either, but as nothing seemed to be attacking them, she let herself fall back into her usual self. The blue left her eyes, colour returned to her skin, her fangs and claws retracted. She listened, but there was nothing. She looked, but still nothing. She felt, but again there was nothing. It was like the weight of the universe was on her shoulders, but there was nothing there. "Well..." she said, thinking aloud "...Maybe we should do nothing..." and no sooner had she said this, Lexi fell through the nothing that was the floor...
