"The carpet and the wood used on these stairs combined are worth more money than you've probably ever seen in one place," Evelyn said, "I would appreciate if you didn't damage them."

After bumping it especially hard on the last step, Sinead hoisted the bag onto her shoulder and jumped up onto the landing. "So which one's mine?"

"You can take any room on this floor," Evelyn said, "if you break anything I will be sure you are responsible for either replacing or paying for it. I would recommend not breaking anything, as the majority of things in this house are ridiculously expensive. I'm on the top floor. For our purposes you can assume there is a do not disturb sign on the stairs. Don't even go up to the next level. Unless I have either shown you a room or given you permission to use it, do not go in. Understood?"

Sinead nodded and raised her arm. "Eenie meenie miney moe, catch a tiger by his toe if he hollers let him-" she broke off suddenly. "You know what? That one looks the best!" Sinead ran over to the second door on the left and pushed it open. Her mouth dropping, she stepped inside. Sinead had been to a lot of amazing places in her life. She had broken into ancient castles, stayed as a guest in the palaces of emporers, danced in ballrooms that floated above the trees. She'd seen the best of all realms. When one lived as long as she did (and wasn't very good with cameras), it payed to keep a running list of the sites she had seen one's head. She mentally kicked the underwater hotel in Fuji out of its spot and put Evelyn's guest bedroom in instead. Sinead turned to the vampire, shocked. "What the hell is this place?!"

"It's a bedroom? What did you think it was?" Evelyn said as she started up the stairs.

Sinead sighed and fell back onto the huge feather bed that took up most of the room. She reached in her bag and pulled out a thick dark green journal. Settling back into the pillows, she began to write. She stayed like this until dawn, when she suddenly sprang up and began to do what would have, to an innocent bystander, looked like what happens when you lick your finger and stick it in to a socket. It was actually a combination yoga/zumba/tango/jazzercise/tap dance routine of Sinead's own devising, one which she performed every morning without fail. She was very proud of it, and planned on patenting it as soon as she came up with a name that rhymed and fit on a t-shirt.

Evelyn made her way upstairs to the top floor of the house. The entire floor was one massive room with a bathroom and a closet sticking out on one end. She sighed and pulled out a suitcase. She threw in as many outfits and assorted weapons as she could fit before she collapsed on her bed and fell asleep. It was highly unlikely that she would wake up for at least 14 hours.

Finished with her routine, Sinead checked her bag. She changed into a floor length white gown that would have been mistaken by many for a wedding dress had it not been for the fact that the sleeves had been replaced with ones seemingly cut from the tent of a distinctly second rate circus. She left her room and made her way downstairs, hovering a few inches above each step in apology for the rough treatment she had given them the night before. She entered the kitchen and began cooking, magicking in whatever ingredient she couldn't find in Evelyn's cabinets. Sinead had a loose concept of what was considered socially acceptable for breakfast. This along with complete and utter lack of culinary skill led to an interesting meal, one which she made completely coffee flavoured in what she considered a gracious move to accomodate Evelyn's tastes. Laying out her buffet of coffee-omelette, coffee-meatloaf, coffee-lasagna, and coffee-toast, Sinead sat down and waited for Evelyn to come downstairs.

Evelyn was deep asleep, dreaming lucidly. She was flying over the grand canyon when she heard a very loud banging noise. That's weird... She thought to herself.

Sinead let out a long string of curses in a long string of languages. She bent down quickly and picked up the gleaming silver coffee maker. It fell apart in her hands, scattering metal and plastic pieces across the kitchen floor. She gathered them up and pushed them together on the counter, trying to think of what to do. She couldn't magic the thing back together if she didn't know how it had originally worked. Evelyn's coffee maker was the most complicated and delicate piece of machinery she had ever seen and Sinead strongly suspected that she had had it made by special order from NASA. It probably worked in zero-gravity. She shoved in face in her hands and groaned. There was only one thing to do. With a soft pop, Sinead disappeared from the room.
