Grady made his way into Nickel's lab wearing a white radiation suit.
Nickel, as per usual, was perched on her stool muttering away with Chimp, her pet stuffed monkey.
"I hate to have to do this to you Nickel, but we need you," Grady mumbled to himself as he pulled his dart gun from behind him and aimed it at the skin between Nickel's head and shoulder.
He fired once, and the dart hit home.
Nickel's eyes cleared as she reached up to her neck to remove the dart.
She looked up abruptly and saw Grady smiling sorrowfully at her.
"Hi Grady," Nickel smiled back at him, "It's been too long."
She stood up and followed him out of the lab, taking what she needed.
"What do you need this time?" she asked when they were outside and he had removed his hazard suit.
"The QA want to send you to the Pokemon world," he handed her a backpack with everything she would need, and a Pokeball with her very own Pokemon in it. "They want you to conduct an experiment."
Nickel took the bag and the ball, "What kind of experiment?"
"They tell me that they're sending you after a Pokemon called Munna, or more specifically, the dream dust that Munna produces. They need you to bring a sample back here and test it. Perhaps it will be of some use to the association."
"I sense that's not all...?"
Grady sighed, "They also want you to go and collect Pokemon evolution stones, they've given you an Eevee, which uses these stones to change into other Pokemon. They've asked that you train and breed it, so you have enough to use the stones and study their effects."
Nickel frowned, "Biology is not my area and the QA know that, so why me?"
Grady grabbed her by the shoulders and looked deep into Nickel's eyes, "Do you need a reason? They're getting you out of this lab, allowing you to remain sane for the duration of the quest!"
Nickel could see the hurt in his eyes as he suddenly pulled her close for a hug. "Just don't get yourself hurt, Nickel." Grady whispered.
She smiled and pulled away. "I won't be long, perhaps when I come back, we can do something."
Nickel took her things and walked away.
"Oh Nickel?" Grady called with a sad smile. Nickel looked back over her shoulder questioningly.
"No chemicals allowed."
Nickel nodded, they'd never know she had them.
