Name: Aniani ("Ani" for short) or Mirati ("Ati" for short)
Gender: Female
Race: Mostly human, but not entirely.
Age: 16... Sort of... She's been 16 for ages...
Mortality: 7/8 - Mortal(ish). Anything can kill her, but she is hard to kill. She has no particular age limit.
Phys App: Silvery hair and eyes so pale they're almost clear. Wears an obsidian jewel on a black satin choker. Also has a black satin alice-band to keep most of her hair out of her eyes. Obsidian-coloured satin dress with a mirrored belt, silvery leggings and shiny black shoes. She always carries a mirror with her, often tucked into her belt. She has a scar vertically across her right eye, which she doesn't talk about. Her Mirror-Self, Mirati, is physically identical, but a mirror-opposite (as if Aniani turned her back to the mirror but her reflection stayed as it was), so the scar is on Mirati's left eye.
Weapons: Obsidian dagger, usually tucked into her belt.
Magic/Skills: Both can swap with the other by touching her reflection, be that in a mirror, pool of water or any other reflective surface, regardless of size. This means the one is sucked into the reflection while the other comes out to replace her. Each one has to give into the other in order to swap places. They can also talk to each other via reflective surfaces.
Aniani - Air manipulation; can manipulate air molecules to create winds of any strength, and even siphon the air out of others' lungs (though she rarely uses this particular ability). She is able to generate breezes, squalls, gusts, whirlwinds, zephyrs, gales, tornadoes, and hurricanes. Part of this power is the ability to 'teleport' herself using the wind. Terrible close-combat fighter, prefers to use her powers.
Mirati - No intrinsic magic, but an excellent close-combat fighter, be that with her trusty dagger or her own fists.
Background: Daughters of one of the Gemini twins, Aniani and Mirati used to be identical twin sisters. They were physically identical in every way, but their personalities couldn't have been more different. Mirati was always angry and irritable, violent and dark, while Aniani was practically bathed in light at all times, always polite and courteous, helpful and loving. Mirati was always playing tricks on her sister, trying to get her into trouble, until one day she tried to trick her sister into hurting an old woman. Aniani refused, so Mirati did it instead, claiming to be her sister. When Aniani turned up and explained what had happened, the old woman revealed herself to be a sorceress and trapped Mirati in a mirror, where she was to stay until Aniani chose to let her out. Over the years, the two reconciled their differences with each other and learned to work as a team, though they remain opposite personalities. They carry a mirror, always, in order to swap places as needed.
Personality: They have learned to work together to get the best outcome for both, each one realising that compromise is often necessary. Between them they can see both sides of a situation.
Aniani - Intellectually inclined, forever probing people and places in search of information, the more information she collects, the better. Even though her intellectual mind can rationalize forever and a day, she also has a surplus of imagination waiting to be tapped. She would always prefer to know where she's headed than to leave it to fate. Often thoughtful, her heart is in the right place. Quick-thinking and quick-witted, she's far better with her mind than her hands, preferring an intellectual challenge to a physical one.
Mirati - Adaptable and dexterous, with the ability to tackle many things at once, the downside of which can be a lack of follow-through on occasion, though never in a fight. Fast on her feet, she is both curious and clever and is incredibly flexible, preferring to simply go with the flow over making plans. Often thoughtful, though this is usually due to her scheming, she is better with her hands than her mind, and is far stronger than her sister, vastly preferring to fight it out than have an intellectual argument.
Notes: Wouldn't it be interesting to have a bunch of Questers born of the Western Zodiac? (And the Chinese one for that matter...) Kinda like Percy Jackson, only with the Zodiac instead of Greek Gods.
