It has come to my attention that you guys don't really do the challenges anymore. Is it worth still having them, or would it just be a little pointless now? Thoughts? ~Echo~

Maybe we should temporarily suspend challenges until people are more active on the site again like Sierra and Wulfie. Unless you have spoken to them IRL Echo?

I have not, at least not about this. It's a shame really, the February and March challenges were going to be quite interesting, the February one in particular was, if I do say so myself, rather good.

Well it's up to you what you want to do with them but we could make it the February/March challenge as it wasn't posted on the first

Wulfie did a couple of shouts about it:
I don't think we should get rid of the challenges, but a few of them have developed into quests that would never have been completed in the time limit perhaps, rather than just outright getting rid of them, we should just have a rethink on how they work?
I wonder if doing quarterly challenges would be better? - 3 months to complete instead of 1, but at the same time I know I'll forget to post them if it's not the first of every month. I would also like to point out that they are meant to be challenging, that is sort of the point of them...

It's a fair point that they're meant to be challenging, I just think the success rate is even lower than I'd expected, as far as I'm aware.
Quarterly challenges do sound like a good idea, but I understand that would be harder to keep track of on your end. Perhaps you increase the time limit, but still post a new challenge every month?

I think Wulfie has a good idea there.

That is a good idea actually. How long do you think appropriate? Or should each challenge have a time limit based on its complexity? Longer for the ones that would take a while, but shorter for the ones with, say, a 10-page limit. Thoughts?

Variable time limits wasn't necessarily what I was thinking of, but it is a very good idea. Perhaps one month for every challenge point the quest is worth (excluding the 10-page limit quests)?
Just make sure to post the time limit with the challenge brief, and there shouldn't be any issues.

I vote we go with Wulfie's suggestions
