((ooc: Anyone who joins this, just go wild with the world. It is anything you want it to be. Snow-covered mountains, crystal clear waters, bright red grass, anything. Inhabitants and animals too. When I say there are no restrictions on powers, appearances, setting or characters, I really mean it. Enjoy!))
She felt hair across her face and groaned through her nose, realising she was awake.
This didn't feel like her bed.
What had happened this time?
She couldn't remember.
It was cold.
Really cold.
Cold as-
"Ice..." Said a realising voice.
She opened her eyes and immediately had to squint against the brightness of the three suns in the sky overhead.
"Three?"
She brushed blonde hair off her face and tried to sit up.
It was tough, she was stiff, but she managed.
She was sitting in the middle of some kind of deep-red lake that had frozen over, and it was a good seven metres to the nearest bank.
She scrunched up her eyes and felt her head.
How had she gotten here?
Where was here?
Hang on!
Her eyes snapped open again as she stared at the ice around her.
Red.
It was deep red.
Blood?
Who knows?
Not good.
Get off the ice.
Now.
She struggled to her feet and realised they were bare. No shoes. No socks. Just her feet on the ice.
Not good.
She slipped and slid and went numb, but she managed to get to the bank without any real damage.
Red.
Brighter, but still red.
The snow she had to walk on was red.
Where was she?
What happened?
Something glittered in a snow drift a few yards ahead.
She took the opportunity to look at herself while she was stable enough to stand still.
Pyjamas.
Wonderful.
Not even hers.
She scrunched up her face again and tried to think.
No memory of how she'd gotten there at all. Nor could she remember why she was wearing someone else's pyjamas.
If she didn't get warm soon she was likely to freeze to death.
Opening her eyes and looking around told her she could see nothing but snow and ice in all directions.
And whatever that glittering thing was.
She sighed slowly, shivered a little and trudged towards it.
It turned out to be a chest of some kind.
Unlocked.
Good.
She lifted the lid and was a little surprised to see her name engraved on the inside.
"Jessica"
She pulled out the contents and was greatly relieved to find clothes.
Warm ones.
Not as warm as she'd have liked, but she wasn't about to refuse them.
The important thing was the inclusion of a jumper, thick socks and good waterproof boots.
She pulled the clothes on hurriedly, shoving the pyjamas into the chest in their place.
That was when she discovered the knife.
Hunting knife, good quality too.
She slipped it into her belt and searched the rest of the chest more thoroughly.
A crossbow, a beautiful gold-inlayed mahogany one at that, was right at the bottom under an empty flask, a coil of rope and the pyjamas, which she left in the chest.
She used the rope to tie the flask to her hip and picked up the crossbow.
A fair bit of ammo.
Given her apparently remote location she thought she'd probably be fine on that front.
Good.
All set then.
She looked around.
"...Now where do I go?..."
She felt hair across her face and groaned through her nose, realising she was awake.
