"I've read Nabarl's file" Valerie stated "If I'm not mistaken, you and he worked together once before. As for William, the Werewolf, he's in charge, apparently. I'm not sure I like it, he clearly lets his inner wolf guide him, which may be helpful for tracking and the like, but in terms of leadership..." she let the sentence hang there.

"I see what you mean. We'll see what happens when they come back. I've had a few bad experiences with werewolves in the past. So it'll be interesting to see how this plays out."
Kina sat on the nearest chair and waited.

Valerie nodded and sat back down in the chair she'd claimed earlier, staring at the ceiling to wait for the guys.

As Nabarl approached William, he caught a glimpse of what they were chasing. It looked mostly feline in shape, but it had wings and talons on its front legs. Nabarl had ever seen anything like it.
Suddenly, it wheeled around and leapt at Nabarl. He allowed himself to drop beneath the attack. The creature glided to a nearby roof, and carried on running.

(OOC: My deepest apologies for taking so long to reply. Unfortunately family events stopped me from posting, but I shall endeavor to catch up!)
Th sound of the rooftop chase echoed around the cityscape, yet William was only focused on one thing: his prey. He was aware of something that smelt like Nabarl flying behind him on a subconscious level and he was glad for the help. What ever they were chasing was brave enough to trying and sneak up on them, and now it was fast enough to attempt to flee from both himself and Nabarl. It didn't smell like anything he'd encountered before, yet this didn't deter him. He slipped as suddenly it flashed back and make a darting attack at Nabarl; he turned snarling, his claws slowing his down and ripping tiles from roofs.
Springing forwards once more William leapt at the winged feline creature, and slashed his right paw down its flank. It bucked and hissed and pain, but it was definitely slowing.

((ooc: Not to worry, we all dip in and out from time to time. Hope all's well with the family))
Valerie sighed and drummed her fingers on the arm of the chair. "You've got to wonder really, haven't you" she started, merely talking for the sake of talking "what goes through their minds when they change form, on Earth of all places. The most mundane world in existence, and yet there are so many supernaturals around... And there are still humans who don't believe they exist!" Having grown up on Earth (it may have been the future, but it was still Earth), Valerie couldn't understand why people who weren't entirely human would want to be there, particularly when there were so many other worlds out there to explore. As much as she resented the QA for taking her away from everything she knew and using her to backup their system files, Valerie had to admit: it was exciting. To be a part of something so great, one universe couldn't contain it. Now that was something worth writing home about! If she could write home, of course.

"We've learnt enough over the years to hide ourselves from humans' notice, that and there are rules against doing so. If there are any supernaturals that break those rules, then there are people to 'deal' with them"

"And yet, transforming in plain view of anyone who could be watching isn't breaking the rules?" Valerie questioned, confused. She'd always thought that keeping humans unaware of the supernatural was part of the QA's job, they'd just never done it very well. 'Maybe that was just keeping the supernaturals from causing too much damage' she thought.

"Of course it is, but humans have this funny way of convincing themselves that they don't see thing that are right in front of their noses. I've noticed this over the many years of being here. For instance, when I go out, they clearly see my pointed ears and fangs, however they usually think I'm an extra in some show or another. Something I gladly use to my advantage."
Kina smiled at Valerie.
"I wonder what's taking them so long."

Valerie thought about this and supposed Kina was right. Humans did have a remarkable knack for ignoring the evidence in front of them, and yet somehow managing to believe in things they had no proof of, like spiritual entities who supposedly created the world, regardless of the fact that the evidence pointed to a large explosion billions of years ago. Ordinary humans were so strange...
