Going back to the other thing we've been looking at - The problem is with how I have it working when I suggested it. The actual concept itself is fine.
So we strip it back to just the concept - Gym leaders can challenge members of the Elite four for their place. Now we just figure out how to make that work, rather than trying to alter the original mechanics. It will probably be a lot easier and simpler this way too.

That sounds like a better plan

OK, just a quick check - are we going to seperate the Kanto/Johto Elite four, or keep them combined (Personally, I still don't get why the Elite Four DOWNGRADED three years later, so I'd recommend we split them, and come up with a different champion/3rd member for Johto)

Question: How are we dealing with exp if you use 2+ pokemon in one battle? Do they both rack up a win? Or only the one that deals the last blow? ('cause if it's the latter, I'm going to have real trouble training up that damned magikarp...)

I would say they both earn exp, like in the games. As long as they don't faint. Levelling up is already going to take a while, so cutting the exp for more than one pokemon is going to make it torture to level things up.

Can I make a suggestion, given how long it's going to take to level up our pokemon at the rate we're going: Instead of needing double the number of wild battles, we make it the same number as your level, and half the number of your level for trainer battles (rounded up). I'm just considering the fact that we're, what, 107 pages in and we're all still on level 5 with our starters... (This would obviously cross over to all pokemon world quests)
Thoughts?
