"I'll be fine Kina; I just want to get this quest finished with" Damien answered in a pained voice.
He tried to set off again but only managed about five short steps before he fell down.

"Whoah I don't think you're going anywhere right now, why don't you sit down til you feel better?" Kina watched Damien and hesitantly asked, "So, uh, what were you seeing to make you go like that?"

Damien sat down in the grass and stared off into the distance.
"During the Second World War, I was sent into Nazi occupied Europe by the British Secret Service in order to eradicate the upper echelon of Nazi Command. Cut the snake's head off as it were and end the war early with the minimum of Allied Casualties. I was thought to be unstoppable after my time in the trenches; unstoppable because no-one knew how to stop me. Hitler had become fanatical about the occult and had taken possession of The Spear of Destiny, the spear that had pierced the side of Jesus as he hung on the cross" Damien paused to laugh at what he had just said. "I thought it was ridiculous, the ravings of a mad man in order to terrify his oppenents. Well I eventually tracked his motorcade through Germany until it reached a quiet stretch of road; undercover operatives disguised at road workers blocked his passage and I unleashed well righteous fury upon his SS bodyguard then he emerged from his car, calm as if I were a minor problem"
Damien forced back some more tears before continuing "Hitler stood there in the road before me, I had a clear shot at him; I could have ended the war right there but I hesitated, he looked so insinificant, a small man pretending to be an all powerful leader. Then Himmler passed over a metal case, the size of a briefcase ... I should have killed them all not waited to see what was going to happen next. The case opened and I felt it; that ominous feeling you can feel now and he pulled out the spear then walked towards me. I tried drafting but nothing happened ... I went for my pistol and found half a dozen MP40 sub-machine guns pointed back at me".
Damien looked at Kina. "I was bundled into a troop transport truck wrapped in chains; Hitler came with me in the truck with the spear permenantly at his side. That's how they transported me to Hell".

Kina sat and listened to Damien's story intently. "So what do you think might be in the house then, the spear?" She looked towards the house and thought she saw a flicker behind one broken pane of glass, deciding it was nothing, she let Damien continue.

"I don't think so but the spear did go missing after the war so it could be anywhere" Damien replied.
Damien paused as Kina seemed distracted by something but when she didn't move he continued with his story.
"I was taken to a special occult research facility and there they pushed me to my physical and mental limits. They had be face a Tiger Tank or a prisoner like myself would be killed. I was beaten by soldiers to see if I was more resiliant after drafting. For months I was put through gruelling tests until they dragged me to this temple they had constructed. Two virgin women were sacrifised and their blood was added to this elixir. They held a gun to a small girl's head and told me to drink their elixir as an experiment to see if I became immortal" Damien paused as he remembered the pain of that day.
"I told them that I couldn't become immortal; that Prisms died so that they could never become incredibly powerful monsters called Giists. So they shot the small girl as if killing an injured animal. They had no remorse in their eyes as they pointed a gun at the girl's younger sister and demanded again that I drink it. So I did, I drunk that abomination of an elixir tainted with the blood of the innocent and I became what you see before you. I reverted to how I looked aged twenty two years and have stayed that way ever since"
Damien swallowed the bile that was rising in his throat.
"I was locked in a windowless cell, only to be taken out occasionally so that I could be stared at like some caged animal in a zoo. They were waiting for the next full moon to perform the ritual again and make Hitler immortal. One day about a week before the ritual I was taken outside by a Nazi doctor I had never met before. She had me stripped to my waist and stood in the sunlight while she examined my eyes. I don't know how but they hadn't taken the spear with them and my powers flooded back into my body"
Damien smiled despite the tears running down his face.
"It was freedom and liberation despite the restraints I was wearing. I turned into a multi-spectrum avatar of death. I didn't kill any of the female officers but the rest were fair game to me. I liberated the prisoners then decimated that heathen temple and all the information they had for their ritual. It's been nearly sixty years since that day and those memories still haunt me. Becoming powerless again brought it all back; I have resisted drafting, only using my powers in emergencies but knowing that I can not use my powers even then is a horrifying prospect for me. So many innocents died when I lost my powers before and I don't want that to happen again".

A shiver ran down Kina's spine as she heard Damien's story. It reminded her of the time the English government captured her, but thankfully they had given her an option.
"It must have been awful for you" Kina said, offering Damien some tissue. "If you have no powers, what does that mean for you now? Do we go on, or do we try and head back?"
As much as she thought Damien would have been useful with his powers, without them he was not much more than a civilian, and she didn't relish walking into an unknown danger if that was the case.

Damien wiped away his tears with the tissue "This is a great way to make a first impression" He chuckled at this thought.
Sliding two hands up the back of his tunic he pulled out two Japanese Tantos and checked them over before putting the back into their hiding places. (O.O.C: Tantos are Japenese short swords). After standing up Damien reached into his pockets and pulled a Glock 22 out of each pocket. He spun them around in his hands casually them hid them away again.
"I think we can risk moving on Kina" He told her with a grin.

"Full of surprises" Kina muttered as she stood up swinging her bag onto her back again, grinning. As she turned towards the house again, she noticed the flicker behind the same broken window pane.
" Did you see that?" she asked Damien.

"Part of my training with my Blackguard bodyguards before I became the next Prism" Damien told her matching her grin.
Damien stared at the window then scanned the rest of the house. "I did" He answered slowly.
Turning his head Damien looked at the sun as clouds began to conceal it. "Well that's totally unhelpful".
Damien walked cautiously towards the house; hoping that Kina wouldn't be far behind him.

Kina kept in step with Damien, matching his cautious pace.
"That's the second time I've seen it, at first I thought it was just the sun catching the corner of the broken glass, but twice in the exact same spot is too much of a coincidence for it to be that. What do you think it might be?"
She stepped closer to the house, sliding one hand down to grip the handle of the axe at her hip. Her claws straightened again and her eyes narrowed as she felt that same eerie feeling from before, only this time it was stronger.
"There is definitely something inside there."
