"Well I have no idea how I'm going to make it back up," Alice said, "and I'm fairly sure I've soiled this dress for good. Not to mention I will look like some victim of a bad beating tomorrow."

Meyla smiled, "Don't worry about it." She neglected to mention that she'd recently learnt how to control one of her powers, and was quite good at fixing things, including people.
Meyla walked off in the direction she assumed the vault was in. Pretty soon she got to a large metal heavily secure door.
"Oh, that's just great."

"Oh, I brought lock picks, is it by any chance a lock? Or is it bolted? I'm no good at bolts," Alice said, fishing the lock picks out of her bag, "I also have some low level explosives, but I wouldn't want to use them in here."

Meyla looked closely, "Looks like a lock, an old rusty one. Will you be able to do it?"

"Most likely," Alice said, moving over to pick the lock, "I was best in my class when we learned how to solve and pick locks. It's not a very useful talent normally though, since I almost never break into anything. It is good for when I misplace my keys." There was a click and the lock opened. Alice pushed in the door and immediately started sneezing uncontrollably from all the dust.

Meyla looked around her as the door creaked loudly. The sound echoing through the basement. She knew no one was in the building but she couldn't help the sense of feeling of foreboding she had creeping up in her mind.
"Nice work."

Alice finally managed to stop sneezing and smiled, "Thanks," she said, stepping into the room. There were piles upon piles of books, scrolls, and even a few clay tablets. "How old is this place?" She asked, picking up a scroll and watching as it started to disintegrate in her fingers.

Meyla walked into the room, her eyes scanning over all the books. How she wished she had the time to sit and read as many of them as she could.
"I don't know but judging from the sight of some of these, at least a couple of hundred years old."
She turned to go through some of the shelves when a strange whining noise caught her attention. She carried on walking and the noise got louder. Suddenly she was hit by a wave of some kind of power.
"Wow!" She stumbled back as a large draft blew threw the room. "Did you feel that?"

Alice had been knocked into a pile of books (not something comfortable to be knocked into) and was sneezing again. You'd think with all the technology the QA has, someone would have found a way to cure allergies she thought. "Yeah, I most definitely felt that," well, actually I felt book corners digging into my back, but details, details, she thought, "I'd guess whatever we're looking for is up there, so how do we get past it?"

"I think it was just a warning, like a self-defence mechanism." Meyla coughed once, because of a large cloud of dust but kept walking. She was determined to get to that book.
